Justin French is a Retinal Surgeon located on the West Coast of Newfoundland, Canada. Born and bred in rural Newfoundland, he grew up loving nature and self-sustainability.
Justin's most recent career accomplishment includes building a state-of-the-art Surgical Eye Care centre in his local community which has received exemplary accreditation awards. Understanding the impact vision impairment has on quality of life, Justin's mission is to change the lives of many by eliminating the wait times for cataract surgery.
Justin has a strong philanthropic drive and started volunteering in Mongolia 6 years ago, where he has operated on complicated cataract patients and restored vision in hundreds of blind patients, including children who otherwise had no access to surgical eye care. Justin and the rest of the Canadian-Mongolian Surgical team are dedicated to educating local Mongolian ophthalmologists and developing a surgical training program and hope to create a self-sustainable surgical program for Mongolia. Most recently he travelled to Uganda to oversee the construction of a medical clinic being built by the APEX Impact Foundation.
In addition, Justin is a loving and dedicated father to three young children, he’s a rugged outdoorsman, and he enjoys mountain biking, backyard farming, kayaking, and the simple joy of being with friends and family.
Though the APEX Impact Foundation, and the generosity of its supporters he hopes to help those in need, one person/family/village at a time.
